What You’ll Be Doing

Role Overview

The Driver – LMV is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient transportation and delivery of parcels while ensuring compliance with operational procedures, company policies, and road safety regulations.
The role ensures parcels are scanned, distributed, loaded, and delivered correctly while maintaining high service standards and supporting the smooth operation of daily logistics activities.Parcel Handling & Distribution

  • Ensure the correct destination number is written on tracking stickers.
  • Ensure all national parcels are placed correctly by the swad machine.
  • Record correct weight and dimensions for parcels that cannot fit on the swad machine.
  • Distribute local parcels accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure all scanning procedures are followed correctly.
  • Ensure parcels are handled carefully and securely throughout transportation and delivery.

Vehicle Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure the truck is packed in a neat, safe, and orderly manner.
  • Complete prescribed vehicle check sheets accurately before and after driving the vehicle.
  • Ensure compliance with all traffic regulations and road safety requirements.
  • Ensure the driver’s licence and PDP remain valid and up to date.
  • Immediately report vehicle defects, accidents, or operational issues to management.
  • Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of the vehicle at all times.

Operational Compliance

  • Comply with all TCG policies, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Adhere to workplace rules applicable to drivers, porters, and operational employees.
  • Ensure operational procedures are followed within required timelines and service standards.
  • Maintain accurate operational documentation and scanning records.
  • Support operational efficiency through adherence to company processes and delivery schedules.

Customer Service & Communication

  • Interact professionally and respectfully with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Represent The Courier Guy positively during collections and deliveries.
  • Communicate operational issues, delays, or customer concerns timeously.
  • Support a customer-focused culture through reliable and professional service delivery.

Health, Safety & Risk Management

  • Follow all health and safety procedures while operating vehicles and handling freight.
  • Ensure safe loading, unloading, and transportation of parcels.
  • Identify and report operational or safety risks proactively.
  • Maintain awareness of road safety and operational compliance requirements.

What You’ll Bring

  • National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent 
  • Valid C1/C Driver’s Licence with valid PDP
  • Experience in the courier or logistics industry recommended
  • Professional driving experience advantageous
